Hey all!

As the title describes, I intend to create a silicon undersuit for my Mark VI via a 3D printed mold. Just wanted advice from anyone who has done it (or has experience in general) such as which brand, thickness/type, mold release spray or any other tips on the process. Thanks!

Yes. Several folks have done that and made it part of their build threads.
I'd bet if you used the search feature for "silicone" you'd get some targeted hits.

Hey there! Would be happy to throw some advice your way as this is something ive done a few times now :D

Firstly I'll say, make sure you really prepare your mold. Every single imperfection is going to show up in your cast piece so this is extremely critical. If anything, you want to prep your mold even more so that you would while finishing a 3d print.

As far as materials, for my undersuits I use dragonskin 10 by smooth on for very flexible pieces like the ab wrap, shoulders, knees, and elbows. This is a 10a shore hardness material.

For harder parts like chest rigs, I use a PU rubber in 60a shore hardness. This has enough structure to support pieces while also enough flex to move a bit.

You also definitely want to use a release spray. I use a variety of brands personally and don't notice a huge difference (but perhaps im just luck in that regard)

If you have any specific questions about the process, I'll be more than happy to answer.

I really appreciate the advice! Didn't even think about how different flexible parts would have different hardness scales. Thanks x1000!
