Help with attachments

(This is my first time posting here, please do correct me if this is wrong)
I am making a Halo Infinite Master Chief cosplay, and ive got the pieces i have time to make, but im not sure how to go about attachikg them

Specifically, the thigh armour, ive tried hot glue, found it uncomforrable and easily broke off. Would sowing it to the pants be the best or is there an easier/better way?

The attachment may vary from suit to suit, but a bunch of people (including myself) use a "suspenders" system of strapping.

This is where you have a harness of sorts that goes over your shoulders and down to a connecting point at the thighs. (See images)
The design and layout can vary a lot, but this is the basic idea. And you can theoretically affix the straps needed to clip to a shoulder armor ro this harness as well.

You can then use your preferred method to affix a strap and buckle to the inside of the thighs and clip them in place. (hot glue, plastic weld, etc.)
