HOD UPDATE FOLLOWING ORLANDO SHOW

This following advice is coming from an older Con Mom. Over all they ended up small things but they helped, and will help. Some of the advice is general good housekeeping, and teamwork.

As helping run the booths smoother, we did have the nice big display photo op in the center of our area.
On Friday we kept having a mob into the area to take photos, and pic up props and helmets.
We ended up using line guide stanchions to block off access to the photo op, and made a line Que. I strongly recommend that following HODs do the same.

The Sticky Toss we took out compleatly due to the balls not sticking well, and almost no one looking at it for the first half of the day Friday.

Take the people from the sticky toss, put them into Photo Booth.

You will want to have on average 2 people at the recruitment area.
At Photo Ops, you will want a Min of two people. One of those two people must be either in cloth costume, or no costume to work the cameras. They will also have to be the line guide, metering people in and out of the photo area and guarding weapons/ handing out any weapons that people are allowed to take photos with. (We suggest only foam props for this.) The other person or persons should be in costume for photo ops. People need to be back to switch out about every 2 hours. Even if the chart is fluid, people need breaks. Please be respectful of this.

You NEED to make sure that there is NOTHING put on top of the green storage boxes. (One of our odst are leaning against the said green box in this pic). Do not leave helmets out.

People will pick up helmets and just plop them on their heads with out asking. One person with head lice and we will have issues.

Please, make sure that all items in the member storage area are always neat and clean. Keep everything that you are not currently using either boxed or bagged. We did have one incident where one of our members thought he had lost his backpack due to other members laying their stuff on top of it.

Please, police your trash often. Do not leave cups, water bottles, or anything else really laying around anywhere. We want to keep things looking pristine and professional.

Keep a good supply of bottled water on hand.
This is a hot summer. Keep hydrated, and keep an eye on your commrades.

If you have issues of any sort, contact your POC immediately. If they are not near, then your next highest ranking officer.

Water runners checking on armoured members stuck in the photo pit or elsewhere in the booth are important. Making sure someone does a run though every hour to check that people are practicing good self care is a game changer.
