Sup lads, I made these things in Blender



I'm just getting started in blender, so if my peps look like under-poly piles of p*ss please feel free to comment and hurl tips at me, so that I may evolve, adapt, etc. The reason some of my peps look so low poly is because I'm a great believer in utter customisation (one of the reasons why I like the number of variation of chaos space marines minis) and it'd be a lot easier to work with something slightly lower poly than one's normally used to. I expect these to be battle-beaten, blood-sprayed, customised and ruined. If you want me to specifically add something to an existing pep, suggest it and I'll see what I can do.

Arm

I found the other arms I made a little flimsy and difficult to keep shape when they were resined, so I made my own with reinforced insides.

My aim with this is to pepakuraise the Chaos Space Marine army (all the little bits in miniatures). It'll take a long time, but damn it'll be worth it, if only to see an army of aspiring champions of the dark gods IRL.

They look like a good start I find modelling well defined edge loops helps, if you can model in strips, it makes for easier unfolding.

The fist one looks very good, good use of a geo-sphere, try to use a sphere or geo-sphere whenever you can, helps a lot. the Horned Fantasy Helmet forehead seems a bit awkward but your still working it. its all looks fine.











modelers seem to be coming out of the woodwork these days lol. i think there should be a 3d modeling section on this forum.

Yeah, I do regret doing it with an Icosphere, but I'm still learning. And the forehead is supposed to have like a ridge-arrow-thing on it, maybe that's what you're referring to.

I'm still a bit rubbish I know, but I'll get there etc.



And I think that's a good suggestion, a new 3D sub board.

Yeah the forehead looks awkward, but as I said it's not quite finished yet, still more work to do on the grill, too. I was trying to put a skull on the forehead, but we'll see anyway.

It's not, just takes practice.

Blender is remarkably easy, especially if you want to do stupidly simple things like this. I used these video tutorials to get me started (http://www.gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html), /3/ themselves agreed that those video tutorials are so much better than that noob to pro crap.
