I just need a rough estimate from someone who's done it before. Is it at all possible for the resining and fiberglassing done on Pepakura armor in a week? And, if so, is there time for detailing afterwards?

Also, about how much money is it going to cost for the total supplies i'll need? I checked all the FAQs and tutorials but i couldnt find this info anywhere.

40-50 dollars to resin and glass a suit to be sturdy and last.

It takes say 2-3 hours on a sunny day to cure resin, same with fiberglass in it, say 6-9 hours per piece for it to be completely resin and glassed. You can work on many pieces at a time, like a helmet, torso, and arms, and let them sit out.

Otherwise, it being winter, it can take days for resin to cure.

Only $50 to resin and glass?? o_O

I thought it would be more?

Are you talking about for the whole suit?

Well I know that Frost will be back to answer but so far I have used 2 quarts and I have only done my helmet, and my left and right arms (bicep, forearms and gauntlets) But that is because I am adding the resin a bit thick on the inside and outside!

You might spent a bit more if you are trully trying to reinforce your whole suit but its costing me a bit more for the Metal Glaze and I am on my 2nd bottle. So far with what I said that I have finished, I have spent about $300.

and the 40-50 bucks covers what exactly? resin and fiberglass? how much of each is needed?

Check the prices at your local hardware store or walmart. They have low prices, and that should be good because fiberglass dosent come cheap.

You will use a LOT depending on what armor you make.

I have to wait, its winter and im broke.

Yeah I figured it would be more in the hundreds.

He's saying it costs about 40-50 dollars for enough polyester resin (w. hardener) and fiberglass cloth for a whole suit.

There are many, many threads regarding price estimates btw ;)

Expect to pay around $200-300 total (resin, cloth, paper, sanding paper, bondo, paint...etc) for a moderately detailed pepakura suit. If you are like Wetokole and really go the distance in making your suit high detail, you may find the total tab running higher.
