Hello everyone! I was digging around the tutorial section and can’t find a good guide for how to properally pad a helmet.

What is the best way to pass a helmet for comfort and cooling?

Sorry I’m a bit of a novice at armor making. In fact I’m working my first armor ever right now.

See pictures for current progress!

Congrats on starting your first build!

Some people like to use hardhat liners. They're cheap, simple to implement, and there's less contact with your head, meaning it's plenty breathable. It helps that it's comfortable enough to wear for an extended time, but you would be sacrificing some comfort.

Personally, I use this combat helmet padding because it's what I'm used to, having worn an ACH for six years like it was attached to my head. You just slap the adhesive velcro pieces to the inside of the helmet, and the pads stick to that. It's nice to have the flexibility of moving your pads around to fit your skull, especially if you have a weird-shaped head like mine. On top of that, you can buy and add more pads if needed.

As for cooling, I would go with small USB fans and a USB power bank. These blower fans are the way to go.

Hope this helps!

With all the HUD tech in my helmet now, weighing in at a moderate 3lbs, it's starting to get a little uncomfortable. I found this thread useful, so thanks RookBartly
