I say have someone help you with scaling out the pieces of armor you are doing, then once you do that just print and go at it. Whatever you do take your time on it. the longer you take and the more patience you have, the better your armor will turn out. It took me about a month to make my helmet. Be prepared for months and months of folding and gluing. Hope i helped somewhat.

Well, for starters, learn your terminology, check out the beginning of the 405th E-Zine for a legend of common terms. Backforming = vacuforming I'm assuming? As for tips on how to get a piece of the action, check out the stickies we got here so you're know all the safety precautions and sounds like the pepakura stage is where you could help. Cutting, scoring and assembling can be tedious alone, but with a friend it takes much less time and let's you spend some quality time with the beginning stages of your armor.

If you have any questions, in the stickies, is the Q&A Team, shoot them over a message by finding the guy or gal that meets your needs.

Cheers,
Kensai

I think you mean 'vac-forming'.

There's a lot of threads around on this site to help you in the 'Creation Discussion' forum - they will help you a lot. They're all 'stuck' so you can find them easily - go have a look at them and you'll be well on your way to having a nice set of armor.

Just a note though - since you're young, you'll more than likely grow out of your armor pretty quickly.

Keep in mind that you don't have to buy everything you need at once, just a little at a time. Be patient and you'll afford what you need.

Welcome to the site by the way. Have a look around, theres LOADS of information for starting this project.

I planed ahead, since im in puberty, and my brother is making a vacume forming machine, i will make my armor a bit big (should be my size when im done) then facume for them (since it will get bigger and bigger the more i vacume fomr it or so my bro says) and there i go ;)

Welcome to our lovely site filled with deadly vapors :D
Starting armor making at 13 is not a problem, iva been making costumes since i was 12. So you should be okay.
You did have a bit mispelling, but no troubles! You propably meant a vacuumforming machine, and Pepakura.

Again, welcome, please enjoy yourself and make amazing armor!

Do your chores, do extra chores, and ask for a slight raise. And don't forget the puppy eyes  lol! Ya but seriously do the first three things and maybe hold out on the raise for a while, I'm facing the same problem.

dont yell at him, i know for a fact that yelling at older siblings just pisses them off more.

and yes, its nevertheless. Anyway, we are all here to help you, there is plenty of educational materiel to ponder and soak up, so dont be afraid to ask anyone who has a badge in their signature about the Q&A team, we can help with even vacu-forming. very cool stuff, hope you make a decent suit, seeing that you are so intrigued.
