Long time reader, first time poster. As some of you may know, it is carnival season in New Orleans. A relatively new Krewe, has formed. It is called the Intergalactic Kewe of Chewbaccus, it is basically a nerd parade, as stated on their website:
"The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is a Mardi Gras parade organization for the most revelrous of Star Wars Freaks, Trekkies, Whovians, Mega-Geeks, Circuit Benders, Cryptozooligists, UFO Conspiracy Theorists, Mad Scientists, and all the rest of Super Nerdom."
Anyway, last year, I went as a cardboard snowspeeder, as seen in Episode V. This year, we decided to step it up. We wanted to make a float, we thought it would be cool to make a warthog. Then we also thought it would be cool to have that warthog escorted by a squad of ODSTs. So we decided to do that: six full ODST uniforms, 3 Marines, and nine weapons and a Warthog, that could pedal itself and be able to steer, as our float. This is a pretty massive undertaking, but I wasn't completely inexperienced. I have completed a full ODST costume using tradition Pepekura/ Fiberglass method and made one using the newer foam methods. Both can be seen here:
Anyway I thought if anyone would be interested in my progress, this is the place. It's coming along nicely, I can post more pictures if people are interested; however, here is an older picture of my progress constructing a foam army :
