Well I'm looking to making an Iron Man suit for say halloween 2011? I want to go all out and make a suit I can be proud of so I've been scouring the internet for tutorials on how to do it and have come across quite a few interesting tech ideas for the suit. I like to organize things so I thought why not make a thread showing all the tech ideas people have come up with for their Iron Man suit and of course tutorials to build these awesome contraptions. I have to laugh because I'm not to familiar with the rules so I'm crossing my finger hoping someone isn't like oh look its this thread again.
Arc Reactor
Now I have seen so many different tutorials on how to make this and they come in a wide range of difficulties and aesthetic quality of the final product. I personally like the easier one of the two I found on instructables.com but here is the links for both
Here is what I consider to be the easier one
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-an-Iron-Man-Arc-Reactor/
Here is the more difficult looking one
http://www.instructables.com/id/Make_an_Iron_Man_Arc_Reactor/
Here is a video tutorial for a arc reactor
I haven't really found anything about mounting the arc reactor to the chest in the armor most are just to wear under your shirt so if anyone has any insight on this please speak up
Repulsor
Repulsors are awesome and I believe a key component of an Iron Man armor. Repulors are another thing I have found a million tutorials on and most of them are for the mark I repulsor (when Stark is just wearing the glove).
This is a pretty easy tutorial and it looks alright. I'm sure you could take the tap light apart to make it smaller and the glove he makes doesn't look half bad.

What this guy did was really interesting the light actually gets brighter the more you bend your wrist.

Helmet
first some led eyes!
I keep finding such useful stuff on instructables. (The led eyes are all the way at the end of the tutroial)

Here is a video that helpful and points out some things
My personal favorite the motorized face plate
Thread here in 405th that seems to have the best info on motorizing the faceplate

Do you have loved ones you need to protect while you're out being Iron man and being awesome? well a voice changer may be just what you need. I just found a thread that low and behold is like mine but hopefully I can put up some new things so this thread helps but this thread killed two birds with one stone it has the video I was gonna put up ad even some diagrams.

Other tech
Now this isn't tech necessarily but I mean who doesn't want a HUD inside that helmet amirite? This isn't really a tutorial but he gives a really awesome reference for anyone who wants to do this.
I saw somewhere around here someone talking about hooking up his cell to his helmet so he could answer calls. I can't find it right now but if someone else does throw it up because that is just too awesome of an idea to stay hidden.
I knew this individual would come up sooner or later in this and while I don't hold a very high opinion of him he certainly deserves credit for his work. I have not been able to find work similar to the things he has done and I think it would be awesome if we could crack his secrets so everyone can enjoy being Iron Man
Here is his missile gauntlet ( DO WANT
) please someone figure this out
and here is a video of him in his awesome Warmachine armor displaying the mini gun and forearm cannons war machine has

Here is a video of the Hot toys Iron man figure that displays some of the features of the suit
