Ive got more update pics here and we're plowing through the armor rather quickly now. i'll post more pics soon.

If you follow the link in my signature, it'll lead you to a message board I was trying to get off the ground and never took off. On the plus side, it has all of robo's files that I'm using. All credit for the files is his, i just wanted a central ironman board to collect them and pics of other ppls work.

UPDATE INFO: My buddy and i have the brace pepped with supports and the whole abs\sides\and lower back pepped. We need a bigger codpeice which will somewhat mess up proportions but not 2 noticably. We'll be working on the right arm today and posting pictures 2morrow. We had 2 ppl on last night's ab work and a planned 4 ppl tonight. We should have alot to show you by tommorrow's post. stay tuned.

"It's good to know that with an ironman suit that looks huge in comparison to me...needs a bigger codpeice...ladies..."

Not bad work. If I had to be nitpicky I'd say that perhaps the shoulder bells could use a little more bondo to smooth them over (you can see the flat faces from the Pep a little) and unless you're going for the slightly-worn look, the bicep could use a little work.

Other than that, astoundingly clean Pep work! I'm very impressed!

No part of the suit has been completed. I want the suit to be 100% smooth but cant find an EFFICIENT way to do it. I'm going to attempt to resin the outside and wet-sand it, but I'd like to complete the suit first. On another note, I'll be re-do'ing the whole left arm. My bondo attempt kinda failed. I only painted it for an idea of the finished product anyhow. Thanks for the compliments guys. I now have a team of 5 working on the suit so we should be plowing out as much as possible, here are sum update pics. And, for fun, i threw in a side project i toyed with. I needed a break from ironman.

I hope you don't mind me asking mate, but what scale did you use for your chest piece? I can't seem to get my scaling down and I need a reference. Also your work is incredibly, smooth very nice pepping.

Great peping!!!

For your bondoing, if I may give you few suggestion, since I'm doing a Mark IV Ironman Armor myself, and have already started with the bondoing with good results:
- do small amounts of bondo at each time.
- do not resin the outside, apply the bondo directly on the paper.
- apply it on multiple layers, don't try to do it all at ones.
- you should bondo, sand it, then bondo again if needed, sand again... and so on... until you get the wanted result.

The bondoing part is a slow process, we are not talking about a big flat surface (like a car door) but a small twisted shape with lots of details.
Basicly, take your time.

For me, the suit fits perfectly at the scale it was already at. It's like 25.somethin' . . . just be weary cause certain unfolds of it are 24.sumthin'. Thats y my codpeice was too small and why we now have to redo the brace. But then again, I'm 5'9" and besides my waist im really skinny.

MegaLord: Thanks for the advice. We were very unsure as to making a mooth outside since my last try left me with the sloppy forearm/bicep you see in the pics.

Ah, so that explains why my chest piece was so tiny. Lawl. I scaled it to a width of 32 cm. I'm also 5'9'' with a slim/semi athletic build.

No problem starkmark4.

At the moment I'm in a IronMan Brake since I´m building a StormTrooper armor for this year Carnaval, I have less then a month to finish it.
Wen this Starwars fever will pass I´ll take some pics of my Mark IV pieces and post them, so we can compare works and help each other... and who ever will come along.

CSMT800, theres a boot file in the warmachine thread. it's not the same one I'm using though. Plus I have all of robo's stuff at my sig forum (which is in desperate need of attention)

mrjoshvarela, no i havn't touched the green ranger helmet. been focusing on the ironman suit. but I'll get there eventually.

here's our website where we will be posting pictures of all our armors as we build them. Be patient, it's still in the works

sites.google.com/site/thearmorycostumesprops

So after trying several times, we've learned our biggest issue is the warping nature of bondo and resin. SO, we're taking a method thats more expensive, but will be much quicker i believe. The suit will be made of plastic. As soon as i can, I'll have new pics up. Finish date is still halloween 2011. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
