While I wait to acumulate the funds for other costumes, and for the winter to pass so I can start in on my Noble 6 I shall start on my part pepped, part scratchbuilt CIO helmet from halo 4, but first a few seemingly unrelated questions...
Ever wonder what happened to the ODST helmet? I never thought it was necessary for Spartans to wear (they survive pretty well without drop pods after all), and it may have been taken over by the "orbital" but I kind of got to thinking, did they use the model specs for something else?
I got the idea while at work, while thinking, how would I be able to create a CIO helmet... Then BANG (metaphorically speaking) it hit me. The ODST and CIO share a lot of similarities, why not build off of an ODST helmet?
So now here's where I'm at:
Both pics are an ODST model that I've left the details out of (more trouble and cutting that I don't need). It's the LD file in the 405th Pep database from Reach, thanks MissingSpartan and the file creator (whom I can't recall... but thank you).
I'll be using cardboard to build up the areas of the ODST then trying to smooth everything out by covering it with cardstock, if my endeavor is succesful I'll try to resin it and perhaps bondo it, but I'm not sure, given all of the recesses, I may have to go with clay or something, but I'm not sure I'll have the money to cast it, so I'm undecided about the exact ending in store for this little guy.
Thanks for reading!
