So I finally got done procrastinating and sat down to build the ODST helmet. I had already made the torso and 1 hip plate, but I decided to get the helmet done after I had a little more time to work on this project.

So after 3 days, here is what I have:

I saw Ruze's post about his ODST helm awhile back, he thought the standard size (without adjustments) was a little big. At first I thought the same thing after finishing my helmet, but after putting on the torso I really can't tell anymore. I'm leaving it up to everyone to decide wether or not it's too big.

I will try to keep making some armor and keep this updated frequently, but don't count on anything.

P.S. I know the mouth piece is a little off, so i went back and cut it down the middle. Yeah, it doesn't sound like a good idea, but I was able to even it up even though it looks like crap :cautious:.

Hey, looks good so far.

The torso must be a pain to take off huh?
Really appreciate the comment.

If i had a dollar for every time I had to repair that torso, I could have bought the real one....

nice ,looking good so far the sizing is perfect.
Thanks, I kept looking at the Legendary site and it seems they have a better fitting helmet, but they use a completely different process than me. However, if more people say I don't need to reduce the size, I'll keep the helm.

yeah the size is good remember after the helm id 100% on the out side
you need to add padding and such to the inside so the size is good. ;)

Thought I'd give an update on my progress. I managed to build the right guantlet today, but seeing as how I'm going to be gone over the weekend, I won't finish the left guantlet until Monday or Tuesday. At this pace I should be able to finish the bigger pieces by the end of July and will resin/glass those before I start on all of the smaller pads and plates. I also put a picture of the Thigh Plate that was built earlier this summer.

Hope you all have a good weekend :D

Thanks T3h Fett Man and Portalman. Also, do I have to fiberglass those little pieces that go on the guantlet or can I go ahead and attach them?

if it were me, I would try and fiberglass those little pieces with leftover cloth, but only do one layer. however, like you I havent made it to the fiberglass stage of my ODST either. I have to wait till it warms up around here so I'll just be peping for the winter.

question: did you modify your torso at all? not as in scaling, but as in changing the shape or size of the 'neck-hole'

looks good man, keep it up!

For some reason i can't download halo 3:landfall, it says "you cannot download files because of your rating". wat the hell does that mean?
