So, I made this account like forever ago and kept putting this off but now I'm really forcing myself to get it done because I don't want to give up on it.
My plans are to make my armor and base it off or Reach's Spartans because I personally like their style of Spartan's better (no hate toward the new Spartans though).
I was gonna use the standard Recon helmet from Reach as my favorite...I originally thought Recon looked stupid but it sorta grew on me after I watched Arby N The Chief so much. lol
For my shoulders I was thinking about using the Gungnir and the UA/Multi-Threat...I'll either stick with that or change one or the other.
My chest armor I was gonna use (Jun's armor) the Tactical/Patrol one. I always thought the scarf idea was cool.
For my forearms I'm gonna use the Tactical/Tacpad...it just looked cool to me. lol
For my little thigh accessory, I was gonna use the Tactical/Trauma Kit. It seemed fitting for me since I study health. lol
The knee armor honestly looks like it blends well with the Fj/Para so i figured I'd use that one.
As for the visor color...I'm either debating silver or gold. I figured silver would look best because it'll match my armor color more.
As for my armor color, since I sort of mentioned the color of my visor, I figured I'd do primary white and secondary red. I like that color combination.
I'm gonna start working on it all as soon as possible...wish me luck and I can always use motivation. lol

I've got two sets of cardstock. 110lb and 160lb. I might experiment with 110lb first because it's a whole lot cheaper and more expendable, but I'll probably use the 160lb for my helmet since it's more sturdy.

Don't use 160 lbs cardstock. Yes it's strong. But you will have a hard time getting clean folds and the fiberglass will have a hard time penetrating and making it hard. Just use 110 lbs. Rather than that good luck and happy building!
And on a side not try not to double post, just edit the same one over and over until someone comments.

Listen to BroodierGoose1, he knows his stuff. It's not the weight that matters actually, it's the GSM. That determines the weight and stiffness. You'll want to use around 160 to 200, anything more is overkill and will be a pain to work with.

110 is really good to practice. But 160 is best for layering. say you wanna build up an area after you resined already, you can glue it on with resin and sand down that spot but soak the 160 first or more like saturate it, it will kinda bond on like a resin sheet. its good for spot fixes or corners that are really annoying in the pep later. i simplify the unfold by rebuilding difficult spots with 160 ill build the part by layering then replacing it with my fabricated part. like the locust helmet mouth I did a repair on a friends by rebuilding the part of of the helmet then sizing and sanding and its actually the best spot of the build lol. also great for weapons and smaller parts.
