I think this might be worth a try. Since everybody is talking about resin and bondo and mold and stuff I wondered myself what to use and where to buy. Since I'm from Germany we have different names, different shops and different prices.

So maybe some of you will join me in trying to bring together translations / links for our / your foreigners that also wonder about what to buy where.

let me start with Germany and translation information:

bondo
Füllspachtel / Spachtelmasse - buy at carshops or at do-it-yourself stores (hornbach & co.)

resin
Kunstharz / Polyesterharz - i.e. http://www.fiberglas-discount.de/2m-Glasfasermatte-300g-m-2Kg-Polyesterharz

mold
Abformmasse - i.e. http://www.hobbyversand-schlachter.de/index.html?target=p_385.html&lang=de

paper
well... paper is paper ;) best results (as far as I can judge) is in german weight 160g+ (I learned that some of us use up to 220g)

do-it-yourself stores (hornbach & co.)

Hardware stores are tricky. Sometimes you can get really good deals there - and other times they will completely rip you off. The best thing to do is go there, take pictures of everything that looks interesting and then go home and compare prices online :)

well I thought about that but as it was for me hard to read through everything and grap together everything, I thought it might be a nice idea to just have everything packed together in one!?
