hi guys dont know if any of you are interested but my bro has a welding suply shop and i was showing him my ironman helm and some of all you guys works and for all you guys that have made molds just wondered if any of you thought of use heat resistant plastic or resin and thought of pouring some welding helmets in the shape of ironman or halo he seems to think people would go mad for them he used to sell skull one and he said he couldnt get enough of them just an idea and just thought i would throw it out there see what you guys think....

I don't think that would be legal, as the likeness of the Chief and Iron Man are copyrighted and all that...somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

Interesting concept. If you want to take this route then it will all be about quality. But this forum isnt about making money. this forum is about creating as a hobby. Some people have extraordinary work that they have decided to make LIMITED amounts of such work (like visors, specific armor pieces) but this isnt a place for mass production. If you can throw up some examples in this post (pictures/video) then you might get a few buyers, but your most likely not going to get a large line up of people. not to offend you or anything.

im not making nor am i selling as i said just thought if you guys with molds thought about making them not many people out here go to conventions but theres loads of welders

yeah, technically the people here who sell kits and other things dont get sued by bungie and other companies for a few reasons, one, they aren't striking up huge amounts of cash by mass producing them, also people who sell visors can in no way be sued because the visor could go to anything, not neccesarily a master chief helmet or other.

plus on the copyright side whats the difference between that and selling pep file in copyrighted images im not talking about mass producting just a few to make an odd buck i know how you boys struggle with funds most of you do helmets first and why not take advantage on using the molds

Welding masks are made of specifically engineered materials so you don't melt your face and eyes off, so I don't think making your own would be a good idea. You'd have to get 'em approved by some official safety group.
