can't wait to see the results, what got me started in the first place was Metroid, but not her suits (I ain't got the slender girl body to make em look good, lol) but instead the Super Metroid Comic in Nintendo power were Houston Armstrong makes his only appearance in the Metroid Universe, a large "bulky" and "Sqaure-ish" suit for power armor (adding more masculine theme) made of blues and grays/silvers.
I can't believe no one really has heard of him, I might just have to dig up pictures and have someone do some modeling for me in blender/other3d program and then unfold it myself. Been dying to wear that suit, dreaming of it, and even got clay work started on his helmet and such (before my world got flipped and I had to postpone such things) Now after making other helmets and suits.. I really want to complete it, it was my first task... and it's years overdue.
You sirs (and ladies, if any responded) have just re-lit a 10 year old smoldering fire. I was working in blender and other such when I gave up on trying to learn 3Ds on my own, but I may re-tackle it if no one can support. *starts digging for the comic pictures* There is a lot of freedom since he's only ever been 2-D, but at the same time this complicates things.
(Not to hijack or anything) but if anyone wants to tackle 3D modeling of him, here's all the pictures he's ever had in the comic, cut/paste onto 1 large page. http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/...ork/?action=view¤t=HoustonArmstrong.png
Remember it's a comic- so sometimes he has shapes that couldn't possibly work in reality, but you get the basic design for his suit. I also drew one years ago I can dig up and scan/photograph that might help - it was more on the "realistic version" that could be made, than just comic shots. (This will all be in another thread So I don't hijack, until then PM me.)
