So I live north of Seattle and it rains...a lot, so 65+ degree weather is a rare joy and not good for fiberglassing, rondo/bondo work. So my solution? Build a heat box! I happen to have this chest type box, an extra turtle heat lamp, and a roll of foil from the dollar store.
I insulated the box below the hatches hinges with the foil so nothing gets on the wood itself and heat is held in better. Also built a cover to help condense the 'to be heated' area out of foil-wrapped cardboard with adjustable height place holders made of popsicle sticks (haha yes sir).
After this first build up already 2 things I want to add, 2 more supports for the center of the foil cover since its a bit to droopy for my preference, and second i'm going to place a fitted hole for the lamp to sit over vs the poor positioning now of it. After those to fixes I'm going to glass my helmet and give the box a better test than my dinner in the box for 10 minutes hahaha.
Start
the inner lid sitting outside the box itself
lid on, bulb active!
