hello everybody,
sorry my post on my suit was over 10 months old did not want to break any rules by bringing it back to life so i will try to keep this thread running. now on to the armor. i found a product made by smooth on Called flex foam it 15 slow. this is what i am making my abs and other soft part of the under suit but will still be wearing a black body suit. i have been running crazy at work and doing projects for others and put my armor on hold but with me and my daughter (kia 125) armor we want to go as a team so i am rushing so please go easy on me. here are some pictures of the chest armor and abs and spine yes it looks funny because i dont have the velcro sides on it. i will for sure post pictures here of the con coming up 09/16 monroe pop fest. if any of you are going in armor to this dm me maybe we can meet up the and run as a team lol. i did find that this stuff does well with super glue or hot glue, hot glue is better it acts the same as the eva foam hold wise. i still have to spray it with the rubber paint stuff before i paint it ( the undersuit parts not the armor)
so here we go ..... yes the helmet is a modified store bought i have a lot of work that needs to be done on my printed helmet.

Did you render your own files or did you buy them? also can you explain how you are making the armor? I think your color match is nice. Thank you.

Sure can: my armor is moes sizzlic i think i spelled it wrong. but his armor files are really good i have bought the one off of do3d but it caused me all kinds of problems some of the models are not welded together and when i would slice them i would have a million parts very small. but the under armor soft parts i used from the do3d and made a mold of the 3d printed part then poured the flex foam it 15 in the mold and it will stick to your mold if you do not remember to spray the release in it,dont ask how i know lol. the rest of the armor is 3d printed. as far as color i took the infinite master chief action figure to lowes and they scaned it and matched the color and made me a gallon so i have extra best 29.00 ever spent. you can thin it with water if you are going to spray it but you can brush it and the brush marks go way when dry then you can put a varnish or clear you just have to make a test part to see what works but the rustolium clear satin works on my plus i weathered it some before i sealed it i will add more in some places. if you do any items with silicone the only thing that will work gluing stuff on silicone is what smooth on sales its a type of silicone glue and it hold really well. i went with the flex foam because it is strong and light weight silicone is heavy.

That is really interesting and I am still not familiar with that medium but I will look into it thanks.

i am not a foam working guy it never come out right. does anyone know of a set of master chief boot patterns that is kind of easy to build?

im going to stick to the printing process i stink at foam i wasted a hole pack of foam trying to get the boots right dog gone it....lol

Nice work! How did you make the undersuit around the crotch area?
3d printed the size part then made a mold and cast it in latex about 8 coats and i think i will use some kind of silicone next one latex is not super strong. it is not cheap to do i was not sure it was going to be that much but with the cost now days i have about 200.00 in it.

Hello, very good work sir, and very useful all the information you give, good luck and looking forward to seeing your finished work

I will do a complete suit up soon.. but I had the time from work to go to Monroe pop fest today with my daughter. Going to cook with my daughter was a special time for me. Even with me forgetting some of my gaskets I still had fun with her.

Wow both of those suits of armor are fantastic! It looks like you’re basically finished but more photos is always great!

Ok I was not happy with the chest so I am reprinting it. I now have a color I'm happy with so I am in the process of a repaint. I have the back of the torso printing now the front is done please let me know what you guys think about the color or anything else in this build.

This build is terrible and I hate it. I mean this looks like a professional prop builder made it. It's honestly embarrassing.

Hopefully by now you figured out the sarcasm. This build is amazing and looks incredible! That green is gorgeous!
