My workplace participates in Extra Life every year and goes all-out promoting it, including a themed photoshoot. This is our 6th year participating, so we've gone with a Star Wars theme aka "Revenge of the Sixth"

So, I did the only sane thing and built myself some armour. I chose the Assault Tank Commander from Rogue One. The helmet is largely based on a pep/foam template I found here, while the rest of the armour uses a template I purchased from StormtroopTemplates on Etsy, which I highly recommend.

I only had time to complete the torso parts before the photoshoot (which is pretty much the entire thing). I was planning to finish the rest for Edmonton Expo, which has since been cancelled.

Before this, I was working on an ODST build that I had put on pause for about a year. I do plan on returning to that project at some point, especially after having loads more foamsmithing practice under my belt from this Tank Trooper build.

I'm horrible at remembering to take progress photos, but I've included a few below. For the bulk of this build, I used 10mm foam mats that I had stockpiled for my ODST, with 6mm and 2mm for the details. 10mm is a bit too thick for a Stormtrooper build, as it's quite bulky. I probably wouldn't go thicker than 8mm if I were to do another. Sadly, foam mats less than 10mm are hard to come by in Canada, and I didn't have the budget for cosplay foam.

This is my first time seeing a cosplay project through to (near) completion and overall, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I look forward to applying all that I learned from this build to my ODST project when I return to it in the future.
