Alright guys, I need some help. I need a new printer and I'm looking for recommendations. Obviously it should be able to handle 110 lb. cardstock, but I also need it to be able to do a good job printing photos since I need to do a lot of stuff for my wedding coming up. I've noticed that whether or not the printer handles the heaviest cardstock is pretty hit-or-miss and I'd rather not go to the store and just start testing each and every printer they have. Having a scanner is a plus.

Thanks in advance!

I'd recommend one that prints..

Nah, I have a HP Photosmart 2575, and have had no problems with it aside from the scanner squeaking sometimes.

Works well, handles 110lb pretty well, but there are a few issues. First off, it's pretty expensive, and the only reason I have one is because it came with an HP we bought in '07. Second, it feeds from a front tray, which means when it comes to bigger print jobs, as the papers stack up on top of your feed tray, it will have trouble cycling pages in. You'll have to constantly move pages off the printer to keep it going. Also, no matter what I do, it seems, it prints backwards. Also, the printer driver likes to move everything out of queue order. Not sure if that's a problem with my PC or not, though.

This is a very cheap printer. Bought it because dad wouldn't let me have the HP (Which belongs to MY computer...). Thirty dollars, US, $35 for new cartridges. It handles 110lb, itself, easily, but due to the thickness, it doesn't take many pages to overwhelm the rear tray (Only load like 7 pages at a time). If you overload the tray, it doesn't jam or anything, just doesn't feed... So, take care with that. Another nitpick is it doesn't have its own onboard processor, capable of handling the entire print job, itself, so it has to leech the hell out of your PC's memory. Slows me the hell down. Plus, it kinda lags between pages. But, for $30, it's not bad, really. Print quality's on-par with the more expensive HPs and Lexmarks, and I've printed at 4800 DPI with it, so if you're running thinner paper, you'll work well with this, too.

That's my 2 cents... Plus the other $30 for the second printer, an unknown amount for the first, all the ink and paper I've bought, and all applicable taxes.

OMG I have the same exact printer! Got it from Walmart for $30 bucks, I cannot tell you how much I love the thing. I was able to print out all my armor and weapons and have ink left over. I went through 500 sheets of cardstock with it. :eek It never messed up any of my pages with smudged ink or things like that, and its a reliable little thing, never jammed any papers. I loaded my cardstock one at a time though to be sure to avoid jams, and I do have to remove finished pages while it prints because it will start spitting them onto the floor if you dont :lol So if you want the best bang for your buck I would go with this. Oh and it prints out regular pictures like any other printer I've seen.
