Hello, im not sure if I am allowed to post here since it has been about 90 days when I signed up on these forums? If I am not allowed to post here, sorry ;-;

Anyways I am kind of new to the world of costuming (Not really my sister did a Digimon with Pepakura and fiberglassed it) and I had already tried Pepakura with an Halo 3 Marine armor set, so far I had managed to create (Time for a list?)

- The Chestplate
- The Backplate
- Two Shoulder Gaurds

I thought I had an image lying around somewhere but turns out I dont.

I also wanted to do an ODST but it seemed a little too complicated for me

Well what's been going on is that since I live in the Middle East or the greatest sandbox in the world, I am not really able to get hold of some materials that I need like (Another list?)

-Fiberglass
-Bondo

But I have been able to get lots of "Card like" paper for the Pepakura process but I had been using some pretty terrible glue that is really messy and made me hate paper for a week.

I apologize for my rambling I tend to do that alot.

Anyway suggestions weather or not I should do another project or what supplies I should buy for the best result, also if there is any good guides please let me know about them.

OK enough death by Power Point, also im horrific with fourms :$

If you're unable to get the materials you need for pepakura, why not try foam? There's pros and cons to each, and neither is 'better' as its down to preference. But if you can get foam then at least you'll be able to complete a build.

The forum is full with many, amazingly helpful guides, and there's a search bar at the top left. So research foam builds and figure out what you need specifically.

Also, It said you're limited to posting in the new recruits section until 90 days and 50 posts. You did nothing wrong.

Ahh.. Alright, I'll look into the Foam builds, but im not even sure how they start with that stuff

Atleast with Pepakura I had the step 1 2 3 to follow, I'll look into it once I get home from my vacation. ;)

Arg I cant seem to find any Templates, but I did find alot of good guides :O

ODST seems cool and im trying to hunt for some templates of it, but there's a strong judgemental side of me hoping I find an easy Marine Foam template, so far I only found the spartain ODST gear, not the Standard ODST ;~;

Have you checked the site's inbuilt file archive? I had a quick look and found a few foam files. http://www.405th.com/file-archive.php?categoryid=54

Yeah, foam is super awesome. I've been making some armor with it and it's not too hard ( hopefully I'll have some pics up soon). I'm pretty positive that there's a foam ODST helmet in the file archive :).

I would check out LilTyrant, Roxy Roo, and Ravarkian's build threads. They've got some of the best armor I've seen, and it's pretty inspiring:)

Also, Da Frontline Trooper has a pretty great ODST build from foam on YouTube. He's got tutorials on each piece and I think templates.
Hope that's somewhat helpful :)!

Have you checked to see if you can find other materials that are like fiberglass but different?
Like an epoxy for resin and if you really just can't find the fiberglass im sure a thin polyester or silk material/sheet would work just as good.
For bondo, there is certain 2 step clays that harden like rock you can find. Or I'm sure there are other things out there you could find.
Good luck buddy!

Im exited to get started with this, after I get home and get some templates and supplies... Also need to save up some cash and decide weather to do this or continue with painting Mini figures...

With the foam you don't necessarily need a foam pep file. The foam pep files for some here are just modifications to the normal pep files. If you use pep designer you can modify the files, remove pieces you don't need or can't build in foam, and print the new pieces. Make sure to credit the original file creator if you share it. Takes a bit of work to do so, but you could practice on a smaller piece first and go from there.
