I have a MKVI and built an ODST for my son, so I figured I would make one for myself. Progress might not be the fastest, since I really only get a few hours some nights to build, but I will do my best to keep a decent flow going. So far, I have the helmet roughed out, still have to add some detail, and a little extra shaping once I see if I can get the visor to fit. For some reason it seems too small, But I cant make the helmet any smaller, and once the torso is done, I might have to make it bigger. We will see.

So, I have my torso base pretty much done. have one small section to fill in around the neck. Hopefully tonight I will have the hips, cod, belt buckle, butt and shoulders done. They are templated out, so I just have to cut and glue. I will post pictures of all that stuff later. For now, here is my helmet on. Still unsure if I need to resize it

I can't comment on the resize as I've seen as I'm just trying to catch your motivation to get mine started today. I would guess it's fine if your doing a neck covering but this is just my opion from the few I've looked at from reference I'd wait for the experienced crowds opion. really showing me how much I'm slacking though! Keep it up so I can be playing catch up with you

From your side view it might be a little small. The mouth/chin of the helmet almost lines up with your nose. When you install a visor, there's a good chance that your nose might be touching it. Also how snug is the fit at this point. It looks like your ears are touching the sides. If it is that snug and you plan to install any paddi g or fans then it is definitely too small.

It it a bit snug. I have one from when I was building my sons suit that might be too big, I will do pictures of that one when I get home. For now though, here is what got finished last night

I'm listening to my 'master playlist', and I click on your images and the Halo 3: ODST soundtrack starts playing. Spotify approves your build.

Update: the song ended as soon as I submitted that... oddly short yet fully appropriate.

Slow night last night. Only got the shoulder bases made, and templates set up for the shins. Took some pictures of what I am pretty sure is an oversized helmet I made when I was going through similar struggles as Dirtdives on helmet sizing when I built my sons suit. I have 4 or 5 different size helmets laying around, mostly too small for him. I am also learning how much nicer it is to use nice foam vs the puzzle mats from harbor freight. Hopefully I can get a shin done tonight

So, resized in armorsmith to the point where I was pretty sure it was going to be tight, then printed and built, and pretty sure it's still too big. I can pad the inside so it will fit, but am I wrong in thinking I still need to resize? Oh, and dont mind the mess lol

I think with a little bit of padding it will be perfect. It may look bulky but with the rest of the armor it should be fine
