I have been thinking and looking at the refrence images and I have thought of one thing of using Backpack shoulder straps for the ODST shoulder straps there is not much diffrence in the straps I think all I would have to do is cut the straps off the backpack sew up the end(s) attach some metal clips intead of the plastic ajustment clips that are on them and it should work what do you think would it be acceptable to do with costuming.

Also I have not seen much ref images of the boots the ODST wear so I was thinking of using either my Imperial Jack Boots or just a pair of Military Black Boots

I think this has been brought up in the ODST pep thread, and it's a good idea. Until I get an accurate ODST backpack built, I'm just going to wear a grey/black backpack as the base for my armor. Nice hiking packs also have several straps (cross-chest and cross-waist) that you can use to attach your armor to, which solves multiple problems. (Crappy picture taken here at work, sorry, but you get the idea.)

Many military vests (or tactical airsoft vests, chest rigs, and the like) have very similar shoulder straps, and are what's used in the "We are ODST" short. This one's a good $40, but you can find it cheaper elsewhere, I'm sure.

Thats a nice backpack there even if the picture is fuzzy I can still make it out. I'm thinking about getting a Molle Vest once I get a good paycheck in but until then I just thought this thread would also help others.

for myself i was just going to make a strap setup and use those screws that some people use to secure the armor to the straps
