Hey i haven't been able to find a complete tutorial on how to paint iron man so it looks entirely accurate and realistic. I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction to show me the steps of how to paint it and what paint to use and the different methods involved. Thanks so much in advance!

Okay bro, first thing you're gonna wanna do is go into EVERY corner of the armor making forum you can find, and I mean EVERY, and read the stickies. You need to do that, and use the search bar at the top right. Once you've done that, try and ask some vet's with some more specific questions.
Its great to have you at the 405th :D I'd love to see some pics of your project.

EDIT: Here's to get you started, make sure you do some of your own research alongside.

Best of luck.

Iron man is different from halo armor.

Lay down your gold first then mask it off after its dry. Then do your red and take off the masking. Thats pretty much it.

Damaging is simple.
Silver dry brush the high points and edges.
Black wash the whole thing for age and dirt.
hi light and shadow cracks to add depth
Add other damage like burn marks and bullet holes.
Black wash again.

You can find really good videos on YouTube about all those techniques.

is that just metallic red spray paint and metallic gold spray paint, and what is black washing?

i recommend a grey primer, then a few layers of silver spray paint, after that gold spray paint on the mask and selected areas, and red on the rest. also a clear glossy coat over the red parts, but not over the gold parts as it will make it look plasticy on the gold parts.
