hello, if there is a fourm already about this, please direct me there otherwise:

I am wondering how hard it is to create pepakura Files?

given I am attempting to make a ranger(BoB specifically), and have ALOT of free time, not to mention its my first project and I really wanna do a good job, I would like use it for my next step: the start of the physical creation of the armor.

thanks for your answers.

General answers:
No I do not need to download it.
Yes I know about the Stilts, Please do not feel obligated to inform me of them again.
any and all help is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Do you know how to 3d model? Because if you want to make custom bob armor, I think thats where you'll have to start. More or less because elite pep files are rare.

To create pepakura files you need to start from a reference and use a 3D program to create them, blender is recommended. The best way to find out how to use blender or any other 3D program you decide on is practice, and ready or watching tutorials on youtube (really, check you tube for awesome stuff). From there on you can start building your files.

It may seem like a big task to learn a 3D program but it will just take a little time.

But if your talking about straight up building the armour with no files, than i cant help you lol.

no, no, that is the exact answer I was looking for. I shall get blender, then proceed to youtube, thanks a ton.

I have minior experience with inventor, not a great 3d program, but it was 3d technically. thanks a ton. now, to get to models.

so afterwards, once the file exists, just open via pepakura and wa-la?

Well, you can. You would need to open the file and unfold it than print it. But without owning a copy of Pepekura you wont be able to save it and would have to unfold it every time you built a the same file.

You can either buy the program or find someone willing to unfold them for you. I have a few different people i go to and get my files unfolded and i try to vary the fil;es between them so i don't put to much work on them. Most people will be willing to unfold files for you.

is there a difference from some random download i found on a pepakura page, vs. actually buying it?

also, would autodesk inventor work for 3d models.
