Planet Comicon Kansas City is the region's largest and longest-running pop culture and comic book convention. Held annually at Bartle Hall, Kansas City’s Downtown Convention Center, Planet Comicon is an awe-inspiring pop culture extravaganza spanning nearly eight football fields and featuring more than 90 celebrity, cosplayer and comic creator guests. PCKC also features a wide range of pop culture merchandise, crafts, art and collectibles from more than 650 vendors, hundreds of hours of programming, an exciting cosplay showcase and a family-friendly interactive activity area called the Planet Entertainment Zone. It’s a galaxy of fun and adventure spread over three days!
The first Planet Comicon was held in 1999 in Overland Park, Kansas, and has grown into an epic extravaganza annually attended by 60,000+ fans from across the country. Planet Comicon features the best in comic books, as well as fantasy, sci fi and superhero television and film.

Photoshoot:
Time: Saturday, March 28th @ 8:30 AM (TIMES MAY CHANGE)
Location: Weather Permitting
Corner of Wyandotte St and W 16th Street across from the Loews Hotel

There looks to be a grassy area here that we could do outdoor photos if the weather is nice.

Indoor Location: Same as last year's photoshoot, directions will be posted closer to event

Be sure to check the Discord thread morning of for news if plans have to change.


Booth Plans:
We will be doing our full activation this year, layout TBD depending on if C2 will need the Longsword walls.

Changing Area:
There will be a cosplay changing area for the guest cosplay groups and individuals. It will be room 2208. This room will be for various cosplay groups, so be respectful of the other groups sharing the space.

You can leave your gear box in the room at your own risk. Please take up as little space as possible so others can also leave their bags or boxes in there as well. This is a room set aside for you, not your family and friends. Just you and those we are inviting. Please respect these rules.

News reports say Barney Allis Plaza won’t be done in time for Fifa, so expect the same traffic around there as 25, book hotels accordingly.

Notes for Planet 2026 as of 12/12/2025

As the weekend of March 27th-29th has three conventions, Planet will have Longsword taking the lead in running and planning the event, with Regiment offering a more supportive role


Primary points of contact for Information are Sweed and Littlefoot

Load In/Out:
Both load in and load out will require a UHAUL rental for the walls
Sweed will be leading UHAUL efforts, would like 1-2 volunteers to assist with setup
Volunteers with trucks/large vehicles more than welcome to help carry smaller items
Load out to take place after con floor closes Sunday

Booth:


We will be running the booth


Want to have our walls for 26


Will use a backdrop in the event we wont have the walls


Bert will allow trusted individuals access to garage for walls


Be thinking of set dressing, armor stands, weapon cases, etc


Prioritize deployment cards if you are able to get them


Booth must be manned at all times, 1-2 people


Storage space under tables is for booth runners

Tickets:

Expecting to receive 10 exhibitor passes
Priority going to booth runners and out of state/regiment guests
Free weekend passes achievable through Jim’s program, want to prioritize this even if you get an exhibitor


Hotels:
Three hotels within 1-2 block distance


Loews is directly connected, right next to outdoor photoshoot spot, on the way to indoor spot, but is expensive


Marriott and Crowne Plaza should be less expensive, but will deal with potential con traffic and construction to the con center, also not directly connected

Photoshoot:


Outside photoshoot weather permitting, indoor if necessary


Outdoor location is across from the Loews, next to the con center connected by the skybridge


Indoor location is on the way inside that same part of the building


IF YOU ARE UNSURE ASK


Pay attention to the forum and the discord threads


1 individual needed at booth, will be guaranteed an exhibitor


Photoshoot will lead to Show of Force around the con floor, pending availability


Will cancel if the floor is too crowded as seen in 2025


Want input on changing time for photoshoot


If done after show floor opens, will need 2 individuals at booth before floor officially opens





We would like a photographer, recommendations are appreciated!














Panels:


Would like to put in for Welcome to 405th and/or Armor 101 Panels, will downsize according to numbers

Dinner:


Due to lower numbers, we may be able to go out to eat on Saturday as a group, recommend Yard House or Power and Light


Also open to Thursday and Friday night events, Up Down, Double Tap, etc
