ok, just finished bondoing my HD handplates, and im ready to paint one, ive painted the bondo already and realised it was.. well not the best texture to be honest, so to shape thigns up, i done a really light coat of PVA glue on the outside, just to give it that "shiny" look, and to fill in the gaps, has this been done before?

pics will be up when its dry (wont be long)

just wondering if its been done before

Dont thing that it was done before but for your bondoing part...what sandpaper did you use?

From reading your post it sounds like you just sanded with just one sandpaper (dont know which grit) but if you are going with a smooth finish this is how went doing my parts. I use 60 grit then move down to 80, then 120, then finally 220. You can go about using other ways (wet sanding or going to a 320 grit) as well but that is how I have done my parts

If ;you have done this already then oooppsss, but for the PVA, I really dont know, but maybe you should experiment with it!

well, i used cheapy sandpapers, but i started with 60, to 80, to 120, didnt go any further than that, some of it was amazingly smooth, but, it was HD so many places were "out of reach" so i could sand as much, but i heard there is other stuff to use rather nthan cheapy old PVA, but hey, its only a handplate, i dont mind if it messes up, its only a small piece, can eaily be remade, just a new thing to test out

note: YOUR HELMET IS AWESOME! just read the topic, seriously, thats amazing, congrats
