Question about regiments

I have been looking at the regiments for a long while now.
And since I'm close to finally finishing a suit(s) I'm looking into it a bit more.
I never bothered because europe wasn't really listed.
Do I join the UK regiment or what?
Why isnt there a European regiment?

The UK regiment only covers the British Isles; England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. You would need to join a regiment that oversees your geographic region.

A regiment hasn't been set up for your area likely due to the simple fact no one's actually come forward to take on that task.

As for creating a regiment for your area, this is how Art explained it to me a little while ago:

As with the US regiments, all we need to get things started in [Canada] is someone to champion them and start amassing people!

In other words, if there's someone willing to head up a European regiment that's enough to get the ball rolling. It's then that person's responsibility to bring people into the regiment.

My guess would be, there isn't a European Regiment because not enough Europeans outside the UK have organized and worked on getting a Regiment recognized. A Regiment isn't something that's just handed out or thrown together by the staff, it requires members to take the initiative, band together, and start getting their numbers together. Get enough people together with enough interest in making it happen, and it will happen. In the meantime it wouldn't hurt to get in touch with the UK Regiment and see how they feel about a full European Regiment or if they want to stay on their own.

what's the responsibilities to be part of a regiment? because I was wondering about european regiment as well.

As Art and the 405th staff haven't yet finalized a Charter, at the moment the only requirement to be in a regiment is that you reside in one of the regions covered by said regiment. For example, someone living in California can be in the Pacific regiment, but someone living in NY state couldn't as they're over on the other side of the country.

There's really nothing official about the regiments until a proper Charter has been drafted and put in place. Since the staff's priority is cleaning up the forums and getting everything running smoothly, that won't be for a while yet. As I understand it, regiments are being set up right now just to get people used to the idea of them.

so basically I could join a european regiment, still as a recruit, and working on my first build? I thought it would require something like having an armor already or something..

Yeah, pretty much. There may be stricter guidelines/requirements once a Charter has been drafted and the regiments made official, but not right now.

Cool, then it might be a good time to try and gather volunteers for the european regiment!
don't know how to proceed though. maybe an anounce... how did the other regiment began?
