One of the companies I used to work for built a prototype railgun, it was only about 80mm bore , but none of the armor tested could defeat it. Real spendy to operate though , nearly bankrupted the business runnin the thing. Gonna be a long time before we have anything handheld thats reliable. dont know what happened to it maybe they sold out to BAE after I left.

Yeah I got that part , but the priciples the same, If I remember correctly they were shooting at a target at a measured mile (the 80mm).
