Rakshasa/ H5 Chief AR themed battle rifle repaint and modifications. I’m not one for cheap store bought props but this br from triforce cutlery is surprisingly good, it’s a really good scale, it’s super high density foam and has fiberglass tubes throughout, not just the barrel, and it’s super lightweight, the heaviest parts are now the real scope and light I put on it. I’ve made an eva foam br, which got beat up, and have 3D printed another br, which gets heavy, and this is now my favorite. Rail screws are just jammed in the foam, pre drilled, and glued in. Barrel end greeblie is from an unofficial nerf ak47 which fit this perfectly. Ammo counter screen is from the nerf assault rifle with screen printed on transparency paper. Battery pack I didn’t have to hide since it just added to the tacticool greeblie look. Game case weapon charm I got at a vendor I can’t remember the name of at sacanime (Sacramento anime convention) Spray painted with rustoleum and weathered with acrylics and rub n buff, decals with cricut

That weathering is amazing! Do you have any tips for a beginner? Or just things that I should avoid doing
Thanks! I guess go at it at places it would realistically build up smudge, scuffing and scratches. Just watered down black acrylic and silver for the edging will make any prop pop. And try not to over weather, I’m notorious for it having done a lot of post apocalyptic stuff it’s hard not to go overboard in other fandoms, I’d say this is pushing it on over weathered where my wife had to tell me to stop lol but since it’s Rakshasa themed it makes sense to be a bit grungier

Cheers for that! I would probably be someone to weather it within an inch of its life and need to un-weather it

~$60 short rifle scope on Amazon with rbg crosshair sight
I have another question...
How did you do the keychain so that you could add a charm?

Oh! And... did you spray both green and black? Mine is going to be two main colors as well with some other accent colors. I see you used acrylics and rub 'n buff for the weathering but looking for how you did your two main colors.

Thanks in advance!!

Half of a quick release key chain is what’s pretty much in the game. Yes everything was sprayed but primed with black first

You're going to get tired of me (ha!)...
I'm trying to do my main color as white but the seems are blatantly obvious even though I've sanded (i guess not enough). Did you do anything to eliminate/level the seems? Does black just cover them better? Thanks! I appreciate you putting up with all my questions!

I did sand the seam that runs down the middle a bit but it wasn’t that bad, are you talking about the triforce br? It’s otherwise seamless on the sides

The middle seam. The white just really makes that seam stand out. I'm thinking that switching to black would be better.

Outstanding paintjob and mods Max! Definitely going to have to steal the game case keychain idea as I'm sure many others will too. :)
