So, everyone here typically means Polyurethane Resin, when they say "Resin"... but, I've heard of something called Aqua Resin. What is the difference between the two, and is one better than the other?

Better No, different: Yes. There's Urethane Resin, Polyester Resin and Non-Toxic Aqua Resin. It's all a matter of preference. (You'll have to try them all yourself and decide which you like better.)

Really, I know you're asking for our opinions on this, but this topic is thoroughly covered in other threads. We're saturated in resin info and opinion. Run an Advanced Search on Resin in the Creation Discussion forum and you'll find loads of discussion on everything resin related.

Easy peasy.

Not quite. While polyurethane resin is used for casting, the term "resin" is usually used around here to refer to polyester resin, which is used along with fiberglass mat/cloth for reinforcement and plastic body fillers like Bondo. Aqua resin is the water-based nontoxic alternative to the polyester resin. Check this thread.

There's also epoxy resin. I've been using it and found it really easy to work with. It also doesn't have as bad a smell as other resin's but it is still toxic so make sure to use a proper respirator. It's definitely more expensive though.
