i need to round the foam a few places on my chest piece for my titan build and i have a tool that i can use but it leaves the area really rough will a really fine grade sandpaper work? or when i plastidip how much will that smooth the area out? im still quite new to this so sorry if this is a noob thing to know

Thanks in advance!

You can use a polishing stone on a dremel tool to smooth down the rough spots. Just be careful not to do it to much.

thats a really good idea! i was worried about the heat generated though but as long as i take it very lightly i should be fine? i picked up some 400 grid sandpaper and it seems to be working fairly well

I know EVAkura has a great way to make rounded edges. Im not sure which thread or where in said thread it is but you can ask him. He does amazing work with foam.

thats nice to know! ill probably PM him later. i finished doing the rounding with the 400 grid sandpaper and i think it turned out pretty well but there is always room for improvement!

Using the rubber part of a barrel (drum) sanding bit with a dremel works awesome for cleaning up rough areas of EVA foam. It also gets rid of the "hairy" bits after sanding. The heat generated will cause the cells to close, but that is a good thing, since it will help with the sealing process :)
