Silicone Caulk Molding?

For little and fun things, it seems fine. It can be brushable, sets hard yet flexible, costs about $7. Not too shabby. Yeah yeah, spend the money blah blah blah. This is for fun and little experiments. If anyone can get this to make a great mold that will last that's awesome. It picks up the detail great when done right just like that expensive $85-a-gallon-crap for small things.

If it works, use it. If not, oh well. Live and Learn.

ill be willing to try it after seeing that website. im going into town today for supplies and ill try to pick up a tube or two of silicone caulking. ill try it on a hand plate to test.

side notes: i need to put a mother mold also i did not use the extra chemical i just used acrylic paint. when you brush on apply very hard but not hard enough that you take the silicone that is already on there. also if it smalls like vinegar well really smells then its not completely cured. DO NOT PUT YOUR NOSE NEXT TO THE SILICONE AND SMELL! its horrible well anyways wish me luck on the cast if that works i will do the chest! i will make a tut later

well make a tutorial quick! along with pricing and what and good job you deserve a cookie

I think you're going to spend hundereds of dollars on silicone caulk, and then have it tear when you try to remove the cast.

I tried this and it failed on my pistol. :cautious: Is the blue one a pull or the original?

I think you're going to spend hundereds of dollars on silicone caulk, and then have it tear when you try to remove the cast.

#1 i brushed it on at first then i started spaltualating it on and ill show you how to do it when i get more silicone oh and edit: yes the blue one is originial

#2 i spent 5 dollars on the silicone caulk and i only used half a tube and i did a few cast purely out of resin and it was acceptable that why i said i was going to make another mold because the silicone was thin in some places also the resin casts peeled right out of the mold...
