Hey everyone!
I’m happy to say we’ll be holding a community crafting day on Saturday, October 11th @ 12 pm EST, and everyone is welcome to come hang out, work on builds, and swap ideas. This is a great opportunity to meet others from the area, collaborate on projects, get feedback, and make real progress before Dreamhack at the end of the month. With our booth coming up the weekend of October 31st, this is the perfect time to get things finished and ready to showcase.
Location
A big thank you to nerdman234 for generously offering his makerspace for this event. The address is:
The Maker Station
869 Pickens Industrial Dr NE, Suite 1
Marietta, GA 30062
Space & Setup
If turnout is around ten to twelve people, we’ll have plenty of space in the main office area of The Maker Station. If more folks show up, we’ll work something out to make sure everyone has the room they need. The back area is an active woodshop, so sanding and similar activities are totally fine. I’ll have some tools and basic crafting supplies available, as well as some on hand at the space, but please bring what you can so everyone has access to what they need.
Painting Notes
Painting inside the building is not allowed. The neighbors run a vinyl wrap shop and are sensitive to overspray. They don’t usually work on Saturdays, but occasionally they do. I’ll do my best to set up an area in the grass beside the building for painting, so plan accordingly if you’ll need that space.
Food
Would love to feed everyone while we are gathered. Make suggestions to what you might like!
I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone there and spending the day building together. Events like this are always a great reminder of how much talent and creativity is in this community, and it’s a chance to learn from one another while making progress on our own projects. Whether you’re sanding, assembling, or just coming to hang out and talk shop, it’ll be a good time. Let’s get together, put in some work, and help each other get ready to show off at Dreamhack.
