speaking of swords, i have an idea for an energy sword

a good one.

you know those air mattresses that you inflate to sleep on? you could use that method to make the sword. the blade could be a bag or inflatable... thing, that would fit in the handle when not inflated. then, when you pushed a button, a gas tank (similar to a paintball one, perhaps smaller) inside the handle also would inflate the bag, so it would look totally badass. when you pushed another button, the air would be expelled and with use of a fan, the sword would be sucked back into the handle.



it would have to be pretty big and clumsy, though, unless you could find a way to fit it all in there reasonably.

Hmmm... I understand where your going, but even the smallest fan wouldnt fit reasonably into a handle of any size, and while I think the Co2 Cartridge idea has some merit, the vacum bag, or whatever your using, would never fit into the handle. It would have to, I dont know, hang around the sides? And unless its completley airtight, your its going to lose its shape very quickly.

Creative, though. Its a start. Maybe, just maybe, with some changes, it would work. Good luck, if you try anything with it.

alright.

what about the guns and their... things that connect to the suit. i see that lots of people use magnets to make them stick, but.... there's something better. i know it.

as in the halo 3 trailer, when master chief wakes up from his pleasant nap, he gets up and sees his assault rifle. but guess what! his pistol is still on his leg. my guess is that he puts down his AR to drive rather than strap it on, since that would be awkwardly uncomfortable. so, that would require more than just magnets to hold his pistol in place, but in fact is something that actually grabs the gun. then, perhaps when the chief goes to reach for it, his suit can see this and lets go of it. as if you had additional hands on either side of your legs that you can control mentally or subconsciously. so, how would one of these work? any ideas?

oh, and..... side project of mine.... any idea where i can find a purple coat with a red interior? one kinda like.... the joker's?

now, for us petty modelers, this is risky, expensive, and too permanent.

luckily, there's a nice video game controller that acts as a mind-reader. it derives motions for your... i forget the word.... "little character dude" in the game, from your brain waves. so, if we have a programmer among us, perhaps we can works something out. try something fancy..... if you catch my drift.

oh, and, someone who's made a nice suit, can you raise your arms fully above you in your suit? i've made the back of my suit, and i cant raise my arms comfortably. actually, i cant raise them at all above my head in my suit. any advice?

Advice: use the EDIT Function. Please. Before mods come and smash you into the ground.

As for the magnets thing... he puts the AR on his back and drives, the pistol goes in a side holster on his leg. Go look at "Armor Testing" in the Halo graphic novel, the Spartan there (Maria) is holding a pair of SMG's in the side plates of the upper legs.

Well, you have to decide on whether you have the budget of a super power research team, a Tony Stark genius& financing, or that of a "Make:" hobbyist.
I'll stick with the hobbyist level:

1- strength enhancement - The Halo costume/suit just isn't designed for that, you'd have to go with a Ironman type suit. Build in a "skeleton" under the armor to take the load and use super-magnet motors or muscle wires to move it.
2- motion sensors - I think these might be the easiest. Use multiple PIR modules with spinning slits. The PIR would detect the heat, and the spinning slits would give azimuth, and using an arduino/Raspberry Pi computers work out the parallax of and heat source, the using a projector inside the helmet, the computer could show range and bearing.
3- invisibility - Not likely. Active camo could be simulated with color sensors, 3-color LEDs and a computer. Sensors on one side of the suit feed color/intensity to the a multitude of the LEDs on the opposite side. While the gold visor would stand out like a sore thumb, the suit would blend into the background.
3- overshield - nope, not likely.
4- healing unit - nope, not likely.

10,800 amp hrs., capable of delivering 400 amps at any one time, and has a USB power port.

When all is said and done, look up the Make: DIY community.

Man if all of us could work together and figure out how to do all that awesome stuff our dreams would come true a real halo suit and it wouldn't even be the year 2552 yet we need to do that all work together like in this chat to come up with ways to do these things we can involve scientists and engineers wouldn't you guys want to be famous for a halo suit? An exact replica of the in game ones imagine you going to some place and finding noble team with actual halo in game features like camo and stuff wouldn't you be proud about the fact that u made a real halo suit? What I have read in this comment section is genius some of you have all these ideas of how we can make the suit possible actually all of you have ideas and if we continue like this it will be possible a real halo suit will be made if we continue putting our ideas together like this and maybe the military will use the halo suits for their missions and stuff thanks for reading
