Substitute For Resin And/or Bondo?

Hello everyone at the 405th!
This site brought me into pepakura- I wanted to make an iron man helmet out of paper and mache it or something.
I was looking for a template or some sort of guide on google and I found there's an actual paper technique! :)
Anyway, I know this is a Halo-based site but I love one of the iron peps here, and after putting it together I realized of all the completely random things in our garage we don't have resin! Or this... bondo thing that I hear is some kind of substance used to even out peps or fix mistakes?
I was wondering if anyone has had any success with any other form of.... hardening..... thingy (loss of words lol)? Possibly some sort of spray?

Oh and yes, I did search the site for a post like this first but no luck- sorry if i missed it. =\

ive heard of some people using spray epoxy or paper mache'

-edit- wait are you that guy that draws that naruto stuff on youtube?

Wood Hardener. It makes things stiffer. Not quite as much as Resin, but meh, it worked for me. I'd definitely get Bondo though, it works. :)

This is the "hot glue method" of reinforcing the armor. I used it on my helmet and was quite happy with the results.
You'll still want to grab the bondo for detailing your armor though.
Hot glue! That's genious!

Thanks a lot for the info guys, eventually I want to try all the alternate methods i can find to see how they work out.
I'll be sure to use bondo too :)

That topic was one of the stickies.

A few words of wisdom to all of the noobs here: Read the Stickies! Almost every question you have has been answered. If you cant find the answer AFTER reading them then PM one of the Q&A people.

you could always use aqua resin. its a nontoxic alternative if thats your problem with using regular resin. ive used it on all my armor and had no problem with it.

It was in one of the stickies?...... I didn't see it
Sorry 'bout that!
The reason I didn't pm a Q&A person though is because I'm sure that many people here know other ways that they haven't been talking about much, like --->wood hardener<--- ;) - plus people who read this may get a new idea too

Anyway, someone have an idea for a substitute for bondo? I'm 99% sure that's not on the forums yet hehe.
I was thinking about Sheetrock compound but it would probably chip away to easy, no?
rachciav well the problem is mostly the fact that my mom knows almost everything about construction type stuff, and most likely she wouldn't want me using it =\
shes always freakin out about me ruining something. lol
OOOHH!! just found some plaster, gonna see how that turns out on a test pep.

[EDIT] Oh my! Don't ever even try it! *looks at floor* OMG IT'S EVERYWHERE!
