First of all...Update!

Finally got a morning off so I can upload these pics. Enjoy!

My awesome support rod. Made the opening slightly wider. And by slightly, I mean about 1/4 -1/2 inch on each side. Now it won't catch my ears..

Safety first! And the tools required...

Done! Had a few warping spots. First is on the dome, right hand side (left side when looking at the pic) where the indent is. Don't know what happened there. The helmet did fall during this process . The second is down by the brim. Again, happened with the fall. Made me a little sad...but I shall fix it!

And the back....also warped. But, like I said, I can fix it!

Oh man, thanks so much! These are awesome pics, and will definitely come in handy when I get to the bondo stage. That's all for today guys. Gotta get some more resin and fiberglass for the inside.

Haha. I don't know if I could've done the same. The perfectionist inside was screaming fit it. Your helmet looks great too. Have you looked at the links MSgt N-161 posted for us? They are some great pics.

Well, I'm turning mine into an EOD focused helmet once I get the basic helmet done. Hince, why I've left off some of the smaller details. I've seen the pictures he put up. I did a google search and saved a lot of pictures that way. I'm also watching a lot of the live action commercials on youtube, and slightly referencing the FUD movie.

Like real EOD. Went through NAVSCOLEOD at Eglin AFB a few years back. I love my job so I'd like to transfer some of it to my build.

Update time....finally!

Got some time (and some co-operating weather) over the holidays and I got the inside of my helmet fiberglassed! Canadian winters aren't the best for this sort of thing and I think I almost frose my fingers off at one point. Anyways, I can continue onward! Hopefully at a better pace than this last little bit. Although, Fan Expo is coming up and I'm thinking of doing a costume, just not ODST. Enough talk, here are the pics!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hasn't choose to go down the rondo route when building armor right now. As far as your helmet goes I think it looks great and I don't know about Canada but Indiana has been cold and left me with very few opportunity's likewise in which I can resin my armor.

Haha, I know how you feel. It's been too long since I've been able to do some work. I love winter, just not when I need to get some work done. I ended up doing the resining outside in damn near 0 deg C (32 deg F) and just bringing it inside to cure. Had to have an air purifier and a heater to help it along. It seemed to work out ok. Just not looking forward to bondo. Can't sand that stuff inside unless I want to deal with a huge mess. Hopefully the weather over there gets better so you can continue on!

Might try and get some armor done as well. There's a fan expo close to my hometown in April. It's a short deadline, I know, but I have time to kill at work.
