Hey Blue, you could get the COG's but they WOULD NOT be applicable for the 405th. You would have to have a 405th set to have applicability, remember this is a Halo group not a Gears of War group.
I'm not trying to single you out, I just want you to realize, the patch would be your ID when you wear your armor and that would set you apart from the rest of the non - ID'd groups that do Halo out there.
Those groups would wonder why you have that patch, they would then ask...you would tell....and they would have interest in joining the 405th.
That's how it usually works.
Now,
At comic-con or at a convention for instance.
The 501st, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS. has a booth set up for questions, and whatnot
I would like us to try and always get someone out there to represent the 405th.
We could have a 405th UNSC booth, and then have items we give out.
Secondly, the 501st has cards...trading cards.
Each card is different
Lets say you have Clonetrooper armor and Darth Vader,
you take pics of both, and submit to the 501st and they will photoshop in a background of you wearing your armor and put it on a "trading card"
Then they send you about 500 cards, on those cards is you, with the helmet on/and with it off. Then in little bubbles on the side are pics of your other costumes...(small pics)
Your contact info is on the card:
Your telephone number.
Your email
Your name
Your state and city
And your costumes
And places you've "trooped in" in your costume

Clone Trooper, Jango Fett, Clone Commander, Scout Trooper, Scout Specops Trooper...etc...etc
Comic-Con
Star Wars Celebration 4
Celebration Europe
Etc..etc
Also on these cards is your detachment/regiment
Now the reason they have the cards is so you can give them to the public.
To get the word out, and to develop interest.....trading cards ALWAYS look official. That is why the 501st does that..
I have hundreds of these cards.
I could scan up some and post them here if needed.
