im finally going to do the unthinkable and buy myself a 360 but the problem is i have an xbox and i don't want to lose my games does anyone know if this is doable without modifying the 360 or xbox

You can't unless you have an Xport, which really isn't worth the price unless you're into modding and cheating in games.

old xbox saves wont work on the new console different save system. yes you can still play old games... well most of them with an update... but its really not worth the trouble to try and move the files. why.. well your probably going to stop playing your older games after you get 360 games.. but sometimes for old times sake you might pop in an old game but rarely.

If you want to play old games, just hook up your old Xbox and play. Simple as that.
