Hey guys, so I've been in the process of working on a Props and Costumes business and I was wondering if anyone knew a good supplier for Vacuum forming supplies for armour kits and visors? I'm interested in ABS sheets but all I can find are these weird texture sheets. And I'm no sure what clear plastic to use for the visors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I was always under the assumption that you could heat up acrylic sheets? Might be worth investigating that route, you can find lots of those in various sizes at art supply stores

I've been having trouble trying to make a vacuum formed visor. What's the best thickness to use for PTEG or acrylic when vacuum forming?

Ive tried 1/8 inch acrylic and it does not wanna behave . Ive got some 1/32 stuff here I am gonna try some time soon..

From what I read PETG is less fussy.

Yeah, I think the stuff I was using was about 3/32" thick and it didn't really work out. The it went down about half the length of the visor then solidified

If you're just using a shop vac, you aren't really going to get good pulls from acrylic. You'll need the whole vacuum pump and air tank setup so you can pull more air a lot faster.

Here's the Volpin Props build if you're interested.

That's really impressive! I doubt I have the capabilities or the time to make something like that right now, but maybe some time in the near future. Thanks for sharing!
