Instructions:
Take the half sphere and make it into a shallow bowl shape on the flat side, glue to sphere then do the same to the cone and glue to get the body shape. I used some spray foam once everything was glued to shape the gaps to be more fleshy.
Using a Dremel, shape and contour the foam.
I elected to wrap it all with plastic wrap to protect the foam because I used floral foam and it was flakey.
I took a pack of floral wire and shaped the tentacles (there are no decorations on the end of the tentacles as they go under my vest and hook into the webbing), inserting them and gluing them to the ball. The feet are made of sturdy wire and were also attached.
I secured everything with some tape and then apply air dry clay. The clay went on in one big sheet and allowed to dry. There was a lot of cracking, which was filled with more clay if it permitted or with the DAP filler (which I highly recommend. It does well for foam work as well). 2 or three filler sessions later, no more cracks were present.
Limb parts are coated in plastidip and left to dry. Limb parts and the rest of the body are painted a base color of tan.
Plant parts for the feet are attached.
Detail colors are have painted with a coarse brush. Base colors are acrylic paints, the more detailed colors are citadel paint.
Fake plants are attached to the body with quick cure UV glue.
Most of the body under parts and limbs are coated with the color "blood for the blood God" red to give it a realistic blood effect.
The entire prop sits on a small block of webbing to give it a safe gap and attached to Velcro webbing which weeds around the shoulder and armor gap at the back of my neck. The tentacles vanish under my chest plate to make the thing appear to climb on my person.
It is sturdy and cannot be ripped off of my person by rough crowds.
