Battle Wear/damage (Help!)

Can anyone give me some tips or steps on how to make an ODST Helmet look Battle Damaged? Or post a tutorial or video?

I would like to know several ways to do this so I can see what my friend would like most on his helmet.

Use earth-like colored paints, use mustard/liquid latex to mask off areas before painting to show the layer below.



Don't clear coat it and it will wear out after a bit of walking around with it in woods and throwing it on rocks

for the damage, paint chrome underneath, let it dry, then what ever color you perfer on top. Then take a rock/sand paper something rigid and scratch the egdes
