Hi guys. I just started digging Robert's old IM photos and decided to make an album in FB about it. Then I thought it would be good to share how Robert started with his IM suits here. I hope you get inspired. :blush

1. Ironman - The Ultimate Avenger
Event: MOA Cosplay Parade
Date: December 8 and 9, 2007
Location: SM Mall of Asia Grounds

medium: paper mache

=====

This was DonRob's very first Ironman. Made from pure Paper Mache and cardbox. This was his first acquaintance with his never imagined identity. Like a newborn trying out his first step, he tried working with Ironman. It was a trial and error experience. But even though, you can already see the amazing details of the suit. He was not too familiar with paint back then hence the inaccurate color. But during that time, this was already amazing.

Event: 1st Philippine Cosplay Convention 2008
Date: March 29, 2008
Location: Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Place Manila

=====

Using mixed medium of paper mache and rubber, DonRobert makes his 2nd IM suit - Ironman Mk 3

Won "Best in Performance"

4. Ironman Mk 4

Location: SM Marikina

=====

After being inactive for a while in cosplay, DonRobert started to use rubber fully in his new IM suit - Ironman Mk 4

5. Ironman Mk 6

=====

With the release of the sequel to the Ironman movie, DonRobert decided to update his suit to the Mk 6 version just like in the Ironman 2 movie.

6. Ironman Mk 4 v2
Event: Otaku Expo Reload
Date: October 10, 2010
Location: SM Megamall

=====

After wearing the Mk6, DonRobert felt that he liked the Mk4 best hence deciding to do it the 2nd time around. Doing a much more improved annd better version2 of his previous Mk4 suit, he now made it much more accurate and detailed than before.

Won "3rd Place" during the first flight in OER. :)

I find it really inspiring. And that's what I really like about Robert. He always tries to improve himself the next time. Heck he even started to look like Tony Stark. :lol

i simply love it, if only he had the money to do it in metal and have moving control surfaces.
and IM isnt that for from a gundam, now that would be challenging but awsome

when i get a job so i can have the money to buy supplies i am so doing a 00 raiser build hopefully it will look as good as this stuff. btw what did he use to build the mk4 v2 project i know earlier you said rubber but what kind of rubber?

just rubber. the ones used for flip-flops & shoe soles. that's what its used for here in the philippines. :)

hmm i think i know of a two part rubber mix that i could use similar to smooth cast i found on another post i might do a clay model and do a rubber casting, i wonder if that would be easier? btw how do you light up the eye slits/holes?

rubber casting? like rubber latex? i'm not sure. wouldn't it be too soft?

we use led lights & watch batteries for the eyes. :)

Galing mo talaga 'tol! Sana makagawa din ako nang katulad sa costume mo!
Pwede po ba'ng huminge nang pattern or blue print sa Iron Man Mark 6 mo? Ako ay 5 feet 6 1/2 inches, sana kasya sa katawan ko... (Great job man! Hope that i can also build the same suit as yours. Hope you can give me a pattern or blueprint similar to your Iron Man Mark 6? I'm 5 feet 6 1/2 inches, hope it will fit my body frame.)
