Hey Dav0, long time no see!

Are you going to build the Contoured leg set when that comes out? Curious.

Wonderful work you've done here.

hey man, i took a break from this site for a while, because of all the glitches in it and stuff, but im back now that its working again.

i actually have the contoured leg pep files but haven't got them unfolded yet.

and thanks,
CrazyDav0 :D

Update: (sort of)

i recently bought some EPS off the interwebs, and started making a Halo 4 M6H (Magnum)
i have pretty much finished, i just need to plasti-dip it and paint it.

IMG_20130706_171026_zps0799ca04.jpg

i think it's pretty good for my first Styrofoam weapon, i think once i buy and apply some plasti-dip it'll fix up some of those messy parts :/
i am gonna make another magnum before i do a bigger gun, for practice, and so i can dual wield 'em ;)

thanks,
CrazyDav0

Wait! Don't put plasti dip on the gun or else it will ruin the foam! Use acrylic paint to paint the gun and it will not ruin the foam at all. I've heard that tip from a few sources. Just don't use spray paint or plasti dip on the EPS foam. Looks good otherwise! Keep up the good work!

i had heard that aerosol erodes EPS, but have also heard that aerosol plasti-dip doesn't.
what i was going to do anyway was test it on a scrap piece, then see how it actually goes.

i'll also have a deeper look into why some said that it doesn't erode EPS

and thanks :D

Yeah someone I know that builds polystyrene foam weapons told me that. I would be careful not to ruin your good work!

Yeah someone I know that builds polystyrene foam weapons told me that...

That was probably me :p

But from my experience, EPS foam is melted by plastidip. Do 3-4 layers of acrylic paint first, then you can spray it whatever color you want. Or you can seal it with PVA glue like many people do with Eva foam then spray it.

You have a contoured file? I can unfold that and distribute it (if you choose to)

If you don't have time to unfold it yourself or just don't want to... hey. *wink [no homo]

yea, i literally just finished unfolding all the contoured leg parts, but i dont want to upload them till i have tested them myself.

if you really want them i can upload and post them, but i might need to repost them later on

UPDATE!! So, i've spent the last 2 weeks on a few different things.

first things first, i started and finished my gloves for my undersuit (ignore my really bad camera quality):

extent of movement:

So i STILL haven't finished my magnum yet, but i applied an undercoat to it:

Lastly i started making a Halo 4 Master Chief Helmet.... Why?
why not, its an awesome helmet. BUT im not a full master chief helmet:

first time i've used plasti-dip:

only half finished painting:

aside from the terrible quality photos, i am pleased with the stuff i've completed/started recently.

enjoy ;)

got all the gold paint and can't wait :D

although i haven't made much progress on the actual armor, i thought i might give this thread a bump

Enjoy,
CrazyDav0 ;)
