Halo regiments by state or city

It'd be a good way to bring different people from the same region together ^_^ There’s a lot of people out there who use pepakura for instance to make halo armour but aren't actively involved here on the forums, regiments might encourage people to get involved in the community rather than restricting it only to the most elite members of 405th.
I know Scotland and the UK alike could definately benifit from something like this ^^

this sounds really good, im living in western australia perth area and i think i got quite a few people inetersted in the 405th when i went to the convention in my armour and barely anyone had seen this technique with pepakura before!
i really like this idea, definatly brings more people into the fold and creates a bigger world wide community!

so anyone from western australia perth who went to supanova, give me a buzz on here and id love to form a group!
im going to be making kat (hopefully for reach launch) and a friend is making carter, but we need the rest of noble team!

I think everyone should be allowed to join but perhaps there could be an official ranking system. I think it would be neat.

Wisconsin costumers, represent!

I'd totally join up with the Scot's group. I think I'm the furthest north most likely though up in the frozen Highlands!

yea i am hoping something can be done...i dont know if it is something we are going to have to do or if it can be set up by the mods

I don't know if there are any good cons in western Pa (Pittsburgh area) but I'd be willing to travel to the eastern side of the state if a good con would arrive.

I always thought that making regiments for members, especially from all countries would a cool idea. But it does seem a bit hard to put into action properly. That would be really cool if it could be pulled off.

I liked an idea like that enough that a long time ago i made logos for a Canada regiment.

I like the idea but the 501st exclusiveness could be discouraging to potential recruits...

I agree, having the type of 501st exclussivity will stunt our growth, and could perhaps limit the creativity that we are known for.

you can make movie quality armor. If we do go official, we'll be like the 501st and only let people with the best armor be part of the official membership.

That is the only reason why i'm not in the 501st. And I would highly suggest that we do not do that.

On another note, I think having a ranking system would be interesting and could be used to incite people to do more projects and be more invovled. Like you rank up at first by posting and proving that you know how to pep by doing small things like shoulder or forarm peices, but then moving on to larger projects to gain a higher rank. And if you do something exemplerary like get on B.net, you get like a specialist rank or something.

Lastly, having localized infrantry units would be awesome and useful for armor parties and get-togthers and Cons and such, but would be difficult to manage and administer without dedicated leadership.

Juat a few things to think about.

I have to agree with Adam, maybe we can make a special forum for the Exclusive Members, and leave this forums for new members and stuff.
This will kinda work. If you make a special forum for the exclusive members, they can share ideas with each other without the noobs taking or using. Because some of you know, this stuff has happened a while ago, about some files and also noobs are not giving credit to other peoples tuts/techniques.

So I give my thumbs up to this idea :)

Sound off any Arkansas members I know I'm not the only one out there, and as for the idea of the 405th trying to be like the 501st unless it's set to a specific forum group like Exclusive Members you will lose a lot of members, it would have to be someplace that would be for those members only no noobs would be able to post, but at least they could view the forum to give them ideas on thier armor.

Would be really cool to see implemented.

Floridians, Sound off!!

Dude right across the street from Celebration! :D

Anyways, instead of making it exclusive to only a few elite costume makers, I'd make two groups, the best costume makers in the region are the "Officers" and then the rest fall under their command, like enlisted soldiers. Idk that's just a thought~

Michiganders sound off!!! I cant be the only one in this state is anyone near Traverse City?

P.s. I could rep but idk man thats alot of time and work to add to regular work and college at the moment....

Not really, look at the 501st, its over 5000 members with movie quality costumes. It just helps the overall quality of the costumes to grow. And the forums of the 501st aren't exclusive to members of the 501st, potential recruits and so on are all over their pages. And to be a part of the community doesn't mean you have to have perfect costumes, but it does to be part of the "official" ranks of the club, if you understand what I mean.

I'm all for making 405th an official costume organization like the 501st.
