Definitely let me know how the Styrospray works out for you.

Thanks again on the knife. I should have it completely finished tonight, possible tomorrow morning and I will have more pictures up.

Alright, time for my final update.

I finished the knife early this morning around 2am and here are the results. Thanks to everyone who followed my project and had kind words and comments to add. I really enjoyed making this and I'm onto my next project now and I hope to have a WIP thread going on that one soon. Anyway, here is the finished Combat Knife.

PS- The blade is still having an issue with the draw of taking paint with it, so I need to do some touch ups and add some clear coat to it, but all in all, I am finished with it. :)

tmccarty23,

I wonder if one were to line the inside of the scabbard with some strips of felt or something soft like that if that would help at all with the draw and keep the paint in place a lil better.... Just a thought....

That is a thought I had, and I will do that on my next one. This one was just a prototype to see how things turned out. Now I can make a good one.

Hey Thom...

Got the samples yesterday of the Styrospray 1000 and it had a bit of a surprise in the bag....

In the bag was a sample of what this stuff does over WOOD!

Stuff looks to be 1/4" plywood... and the coating was brushed/rolled on...
and about a 1/16" thick as well...stuff is hard as concrete!

So this stuff might have ALL kinds of possibilities!
