The Knife is now complete. For final pictures, skip to page 9.

Hey guy's and girls, though I would show you my project that I started yesterday. I'm making the Reach Combat knife. I attempted a while back to make this using Pepakura, but I wasn't happy with the results. So I decided to make it out of wood instead.

Let me know what you think.

(I have much, much more work to do with it. This is just the rough cuts with little to no sanding/detailing.)

Hope you like it so far. :D

(I'm very sorry for the poor image quality, I am in the process of getting another digital camera, so I can stop using my cell phone.)

Crazy work so far, my friend. I ca't wait to see this sucker impale an elite once it's done!

Thanks Pony.

I should also mention that I'm making this to be a left handed draw, instead of the right like in the game. In the pics though, it started out as a right handed, but I changed my mind and replaced the top and bottom plates of the sheath, turning it into a lefty. :)

That is true. I'm doing it mainly for costuming reasons. I've been told that I am a bit odd when it comes to shooting. I am right hand dominate, but I shoot left handed.

Well your not alone, I am the same and a decent shot though I can play paintball either handed. A real gun is always a 'leftie' for me (ouch them shells are hot!)

It's most likely because you are left eye dominate and thus can aquire your targets better from that angle.

That's exactly what it is. I can hit most things that I aim at, but it has to be from that angle.

And I know what you mean Active84u, it's a bit of a hassle to find lefty firearms. I had a Thompson 1911 that would kick the spent casing straight back into my forehead lol.

And thank you all for the kind words, I'm glad you like my knife so far. I should have some more pics up tonight.

Thanks Silent Viper. : )

I'm think about using magnets to attach it to the suit, but it would need to be a powerful magnet. I don't think this would be an issue, but it's something for me to think about anyway. The knife itself fits in very snug, so it will not fall out, but the draw action is very smooth, so there is a little resistance at first, but then none.

More pics coming soon. (It's clamped and drying.)

Awesome job. Scroll saw is a handy tool when you are working with wood. If I didn't know better, I would think I was looking at one of my builds.

Ah for the love of wetwork.

Nice build dude. Maybe a simple self-sticking velcro strip would be appropriate for this particualr add-on. The lateral strength velcro provides lends itself well to the drawing of this fine piece of cutlery. The draw won't disturb the mount much except maybe for some wiggle. But that may actually be desireable depending on where it's mounted.

p.s. The marine in your avatar looks so battle hardened, I almost peed myself when I saw him. The regular joes in the Haloverse don't get enough respect.

Wow, thanks Lee. :D Yes, I don't know why I never bought a scroll saw until now, the thing is amazing. Now all I need is a bench sander and I will be set.

@ alix965
The velcro sounds like a good idea, I might experiment around with it. Thanks. :) That is a Cadian Marine for Warhammer 40K. They eat, sleep, and breath combat....In case you didn't know lol.

Ok, here are some update pics. The sheath is now together and I have sanded some of the edges. I still have a lot of work to do on it, but here it is so far. I also added a black backdrop to help some with the photo quality (I hope). Anyway, here they are. :)
