Jester 1014: Combo Pep Build

Hey all 1014 here.
I've started my Build. It's a cross between two of my favorite Genres. Gundam and Halo with a little bit of James Cameron style thrown in.

My List includes the Following;

Reach Boot x2 By Ruze789
Boot Toex2 by Acenat
Torso is MK V v3 by L3X BLU3R1V3R
Handplates by Ruze789
Shins x2 are Jorge Style by (I think it's by) Rhinoc
COD piece by (well I don't know the modeler) But Unfolded by Jason_02
Reach thighs by Spartan-29
Reach Knee x2 by Ruze789
Jorge Backpack by FoolyCoolyman and unfolded by myself.
My head however is a File Done by Nintendude.
MY weapons will be announced when I find them.
I have a few Helms I'll be working on.

I am using Pep method , but only for Foam templates.

Note I'm starting my build from the feet- up. I know myself and once I build the Helm I'll just play with it and not finish the suit.

As I progress any comments or tips would be much appreciated.

Here is what I have completed so far;
Both legs are done

And a Somewhat finished Pistol.

Helm #1 is still under Construction. REACH MK V CE Helm Modeled By Roadwarrior and Unfold by Bryce.

These are the Magnets I'm using on my build. They're Iron-Boron-Neodymium Rare earth metal magnets.

Handplates too. By Ruze789Might Rebuild these.

Again My build is a Foam Build, but I use PEP for my Templates.

The Glue I used is Hotglue method. I'm using a Mini-Hotglue gun and sticks.

I try to make my Foam templates as much as One piece as I can.
This method could really help the newer Recruit to get a little more interested in building. It's alot cheaper and faster than the standard PEP and Resin method in my opinion, but you also have alot more to work with when it comes to detail. And another plus, no Bondo or Hazardous Resin and Fiberglass! YAY!

But I do Recommend That any body working a foam build, should have a Dust mask when Sanding and Cutting. Just as a safety precaution.

Photobucket is a lot better than Facebook for sharing pictures, because Photobucket was designed to share pictures. Facebook was only designed to give all the rest of your personal data away.

Also, you have to use the URL of the image file, not the URL of the web page it's embedded in. Photobucket will offer you the links (complete with img-tags) to copy and just paste here.

Have you seen the Halo Legends Prototype suit? And also, did Acenat post the toe piece on the Reach Pep File thread?

Yes it's on there I believe. I'm still looking for Biceps Right and left. My Helmet is a Gundam that Nintendude did.

I'll have some more progress tonight. I have to do a resize of my Shins. they don't look long enough for my liking.

And I'm looking for an M41a Pep file that is active, if anybody could shoot me one that'd be a big help.

Just started my shins and finished my 2nd full boot, but I think my actual boot section may be too small compared to the toe?
I Wear a size 13EE I can't really tell if they're big enough. If anybody who reads this is the same size and has a a suit could you let me know your dementions? I just want to compare.

Thanks for the move, I didn't want to clutter GD by accident.

Just spent three hours pepping a shin and then realized it was inside out and just a smidge too small. start again.

well I'm now thinking of tearing my hair out, Just scrapped another shin. I'm taking a break from shin until I can figure out what I'm doing wrong. Gonna work on my thighs now. pics up tonight.

So no pics on last update, thought it would waste space.
Well I've finally gotten the right size down for my shins. Been working on unfolding the flamethrower too. Thanks Nintendude.

I have nearly completed my shin (#6). Size is right on for my beefy legs.
Only one pic though. more to come, I'm also getting foam together to give it a try.

Picked up a 360 for 200 bucks got a 50$ gift card. Picked up a Copy of Reach, got a 30$ gift card. Will pay nothing for Halo3 and H3: ODST. Progress on suit may be severely halted. But templates are printed for Foam Thighs and chest. Just don't know when I'll get them.

This is going to be a fun Build!
I've abandoned Pep due to Time consumption and loss of skin. Reworking now into a Foam Build, will how ever be using pep print off
as Size demos and stencils. I'm using flexible Gorilla Glue as me sealant now, loctite was starting to hurt my fingers.
I'm using a Med Grit 3m Sanding block to smooth down my final edges.

Comments and criticism are welcome.

Im looking for someone who would be willing to trade raw casts for some graphic design work or some led kits for your projects... I have High Intensity Red, Blue, Green, White led kits available as I do not have much money because I have 2 kids I would appreciate it if someone would help me get my helmet collection going... I need recon, MC helm, Hyabusa etc.."all of the helms" and would like to get an iron man cast.. If anyone could help please pm me

Dude this a WIP thread, call me stupid but i think this is not the right spot to look for a trade. Try the classifieds, but the bad thing about that, they are not open for people untill they become Infintrymen, reason being, Mods and Site staff want users to learn, which is what this place is. Once you reach infintraymen status, fill free to look around classifieds, but untill then feel free to look at others work and tut's.

Ok Finished this Thigh, took a total of 15 hours to build, I'm holding off on the kneecap for now.

Heres my pics I'm too tired to really add any descriptio now, I'll just do it tomorrow during class.

I tried it on, It fits like a glove.

My gross manly hairy legs.

Had a little uneveness there.

If you guys notice, this is the Jorge shin that I believe Rhinoc did. I haven't added the kneecap yet, only because I really don't know which style to go with. I'm thinkin of a Heavier Paratrooper style.
So does does any body have any comments on me using the Textured side for a back plating, I like how it looks kind of Kevlar-ish.

You know I was just thinking that myself, but I'm still using PEP for my stencils.
Nice to know some are taking interest in my build.

Awsome, a suggestion about the boot before you go further, i think you should scale up the ankle piece, the toe looks good, but if its gona be over a real boot or shoe, that ankel piece looks like a tight fit as is. just a observation.

Yea I forgot to mention that. Going to resize them for a 13 1/2 EE Shopforce boot.
My on ly problem though is figuring out which Direction to go with the size, But I'll get it.
Going to add a 1" lift to my boots, Kinda spread the bulk in a sence(Make me taller). I'm going to be using 1/2 infoam on the Boots to keep them flexible, I'm starting them tonight or tomorrow night.

Thanks for noticing though.

My total Height with Helm on this will possibly be around 6'6"- 6'8" area. I'm a pretty big guy so I'm trying to really fill the Armor.
