    Handplate sized correctly?

Alright, thanks yall. much appreciated on the prompt responses! I'll resize it by adding a little bit less than an inch to the length.

    Handplate sized correctly?

I can't tell if they look too small or if that's the way they're suppose to be. I compared to other suits and LongShot-X has huge hand plates where as phillydon21 are somewhat smaller. I sized this one using HaloGoddess' tutorial thread. It measures 3". Does it look right to you or should I...

Alright, thanks guys! As soon as someone on my dorm hall gives me a ride to Wal-Mart so I can resupply on glue and late night snacks, I can get started on this puppy lol.

Mk VI Helmet WIP (Pic Heavy!)

Thanks, I estimate that I've put in about 170 hours so far into this helmet, so I hope it comes out good lol. And I was interning at a small manufacturer called Velocity Aircraft in Sebastian, FL. They build kit planes. Here's their website fyi: http://www.velocityaircraft.com/airplane-faq.html

Mk VI Helmet WIP (Pic Heavy!)

Yeah, I know its been a while since I last updated. I got this far the past few weeks. Unfortunately I will not finish it until December now that I am at college. But that means I am now prepping to pep the whole suit, starting with the chest.

    MK VI: sized correctly?

I plan on building Flying Squirrel's HD MK VI Chest and thus made Supertaco's tester. I'm pushing 6' 2" and set the test chest to a height of 435mm. Seems about right on length but there's a huge gap between my back and the back plate. Is that normal? and does this test build look about right?

    kevlar

A carbon fiber suit would be a freakin nightmare. A buddy of mine makes motorcycle tire huggers and he absolutely hates to make carbon fiber ones. Sure, they look gorgeous, but they take 3-4 times longer to perfect because of the pin holes in the clear coat.

Mk VI Helmet WIP (Pic Heavy!)

Third part of filler and sanding. So far, I've sanded around 13-14 hours total. Tomorrow it gets a fresh layer of primer and then I start working on all the little flaws such as pin holes.

Halo armor help for a Noob

A sparring suit is rather ridiculous. You're limiting your movement and it wouldn't be able to take much hitting before damaging it. A suit for airsoft isn't really practical either. But I think it is possible. Rather than using cloth, use fiberglass mat and epoxy resin and not polyurethane...

Mk VI Helmet WIP (Pic Heavy!)

Thanks yall, I really appreciate the encouragement. Today I didn't get to much; I spent about 4 hours sanding but wasn't able to get to applying more microballoon epoxy to the rest of the helmet. I plan to do that tomorrow!

Mk VI Helmet WIP (Pic Heavy!)

My introduction to pepping was last Oct. I started off small with the M6D pistol and then completed the ODST Rookie helmet. After that, I was comfortable with pepping and was confident about making a pretty darn perfect MkVI helmet. I completed pepping it in about 60 hours. During winter...

    Titanium Master Chief Helmets. Interested?

I am good friends with a person who builds custom aircrafts and he has the ability and connections for me to send my Mark VI fiberglass helmet to a custom metal shop where they can take my helmet, make sand molds, and create solid titanium or aluminum casts. He figured that after costs and the...

    Just Some WIP

I just started Pepakura back in November and these are my projects. My first ever pep was the Magnum followed by the Rookie helmet. I then did the SMG, which isn't that great due to a crappy design, and now just got finished with the Mark VI Helmet. I have only pepped so far but plan to harden...
