I realize that this is now an ancient thread, but was this model ever posted? I love bit, but cannot find it anywhere online.

I just did some mesaurements and it looks like four 9' by 36' pieces should be enough to make the sword, I could buy these, but does anyone know of the type of places I should look for to see if they have scraps of this size? I am stilllooking for around 3/16 inch thickness, for a total of 3/8".

I was talking about the paper, I had read that somewhere, and was confused about the point of it. Looks Like I just won't sand it down. How many layers of fiberglass do you usually add to the pieces more likely to be under stress? By it I mean the paper.

Thankyou Fearless Son, that's a really good idea. I have another question, I read that I am supposed to sand off the paper before using bondo or mud, why is this important? I don't see why I can't just build on top of it.

You misunderstood, I am not trying to do metal plating, I am trying to add a wireframe in the top mud layer, this would be like a support on a bridge, as opposed to a plate, this way it is much lighter but adds strength.
